Effective Date of Provisional Registration

The Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) wishes to inform applicants that the effective date of Provisional Registration (PR) is determined based on the applicant's date of qualification for such registration, as follows:

  1. For graduates of Sri Lankan medical faculties, the effective date of Provisional Registration shall be the date of passing the final MBBS examination, as officially confirmed by the Dean of the respective Faculty of Medicine.
  2. For applicants who qualify through the Examination for Registration to Practise Medicine (ERPM), the effective date of Provisional Registration shall be the date of passing the ERPM examination.

The SLMC assigns the effective date of Provisional Registration based on the official information provided by the relevant university or the examination records maintained by the Council.
