It is with pride and admiration that I extend my warmest congratulations to the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) on the occasion of its centenary celebrations. This remarkable milestone is a testament to the Council’s unwavering dedication to upholding the highest standards in medical education, ethics, and professional conduct in Sri Lanka.
The Ministry of Health works tirelessly, amidst many constrains, to provide quality health care to the nation. In this quest, the SLMC has been a pillar of strength, ensuring that healthcare practitioners adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards for the past 100 years. Its steadfast commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the medical field has significantly contributed to strengthening Sri Lanka’s healthcare system and enhancing the quality of patient care.
As a registered medical practitioner, I am humbly proud of the significant improvements of the healthcare goals we have been able to achieve over the last few decades. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve with advancements in medical science and technology, the role of the SLMC remains more crucial than ever. I am confident that the Council will continue to lead the way in ensuring that our medical professionals are well-equipped to meet the healthcare challenges of the future.
On this momentous occasion, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all past and present members of the SLMC, as well as the medical professionals who have contributed to the well-being of our nation.
