Pharmacist

To proceed, you must hold a BSc in Pharmacy from a State University or a CMCC Pharmacist Certificate of Efficiency / Proficiency.

About Pharmacist

Pharmacists play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines by dispensing prescriptions, providing medication advice, and supporting patient care. The Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) registers eligible pharmacists who meet the prescribed qualifications and statutory requirements, enabling them to practice professionally in Sri Lanka.

A person shall be qualified to be admitted to the register of Pharmacist under the Section 56(I) if,

1. The person is a Sri Lankan Citizen.

2. Holds a certificate of efficiency as a pharmacist issued by the Ceylon Medical College Council.

3. Holds a Certificate of Proficiency as a Pharmacist issued by the Ceylon Medical College Council.

4. Holds a Degree in Pharmacy granted by any University established under the University act, No 16 of 1978.

5. The person has submitted an affidavit to prove their good character.

6. Has paid prescribed fee of Rs. 4,400.

How to Apply

  1. Download and Complete the Application
    Fill in the downloaded application form with your personal, contact, and professional details exactly as they appear on your official documents.
  2. Prepare the Required Documents
    Handed over all required supporting documents, including your qualification certificate (Original and Photocopy), 3 photographs (1 Photograph should be certified by JP), Certified affidavit A, National Identity Card (Original and Photocopy), and any other required documents.
  3. Make the Payment
    Option 1 - Direct Deposit — Please deposit the fee at the bank and hand over the original green deposit slip along with your application to the SLMC.
    Option 2 - Online Transfer — Please attach a printed copy of the downloaded payment confirmation to your application for submission to the SLMC.
    Option 3 - Cash Deposit Machine — The original thermal receipt is essential. Please submit it with your application to the SLMC.

  4. Review and Submit
