Code Of Conduct & Guidelines For Professional Colleges And Institutions
Guidelines for professional colleges and institutions conducting ERPM mock OSCE examinations and related preparatory activities.
The Sri Lanka Medical Council has issued a Code of Conduct and Guidelines for professional colleges and institutions conducting ERPM mock OSCE examinations and related preparatory activities.
These guidelines safeguard the integrity, fairness, confidentiality and independence of the ERPM. Mock examinations may be conducted only for general clinical-skills development and familiarisation with the OSCE format. They must not replicate, imitate, predict or imply access to official ERPM examination materials.
Key Requirements
- ERPM-specific mock OSCEs or clinical preparatory assessments must not be conducted within 30 calendar days before the scheduled official ERPM examination.
- Promotional material must not use claims such as “ERPM past paper questions”, “ERPM predicted questions” or “likely ERPM stations”.
- Courses identified as ERPM preparatory examinations must prominently include the following disclaimer:
“This mock examination is not affiliated with the official Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) ERPM and does not guarantee any similarity to or prediction of actual examination content.”
- ERPM Subject Committee Chairs, committee members and official ERPM examiners are prohibited from participating in external ERPM mock OSCEs or preparatory courses during the same examination cycle, unless prior written authorization is granted by the SLMC Examination Committee.
Non-compliance may result in an SLMC inquiry and disciplinary action.
Please refer to the attached Code of Conduct and Guidelines for the complete requirements.
