The Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) informs all applicants and relevant institutions that applications for temporary registration must be submitted in accordance with all requirements prescribed by the SLMC.

Applicants are required to submit a duly completed application together with all required supporting documents, including the necessary recommendation or approval of the Director General of Health Services (DGHS), where applicable.

Important Submission Requirement

The complete application, including the required DGHS recommendation/approval, must be submitted to the SLMC at least two (02) months before the intended commencement date of the event, training or programme.

This timeframe is necessary to allow sufficient time for the required evaluation and to obtain approval from the Temporary Registration Committee and the Council.

Applications submitted sufficiently in advance will be considered by the relevant Temporary Registration Committee, where applicable, and thereafter by the Council. The decision will be communicated to the applicant before the scheduled event.

Please Note

Where the required documents, recommendations and approvals are not submitted within the stipulated timeframe, the SLMC will not be in a position to process the application. In such circumstances, temporary registration or approval will not be granted, and the application will be returned to the applicant.

Applicants and relevant institutions are strongly advised to ensure that all applications are complete and submitted within the stipulated timeframe to avoid delays or an inability to process the application.
